Upcoming events!   The Whole Story-- A Read-Aloud Training Film     Ready Readers' 20-minute professional training film is for everyone who reads aloud to groups of preschool children--including volunteer readers and tutors, teachers, storytellers, library personnel and parents. THE WHOLE STORY doesn't lecture! Instead, it uses actual readers to demonstrate and explain, how to select books that kids will love; how to prepare in advance for your read-aloud session; ways to capture and hold the group's attention; tips for involving the children and exciting their interest in books; and how to maximize the fun for all involved. At the end of these "chapters," an experienced reader reads a book aloud, incorporating the tips shown earlier. We make our film available without charge to our readers and to the preschools we serve. All others may purchase the film, on VHS or DVD, for $19.95 plus $3.00 for shipping and handling.
